This Is 40, Season 4: The Adventure I Choose
A new continent, slow mornings, and peace that stays. Forty, free, full, and finally walking in purpose.

And now? I have moved to a whole new continent. New soil. New sky. New rhythm. New culture.
An adventure awaits, and I’m here for all of it. But here’s what I know: I am over whirlwinds. I am over storms.
I don’t want drama disguised as passion. I don’t want chaos dressed up as excitement. I’ve done that. I’ve lived that. I’ve got the scars to show for it and the stories to prove it.
What I want now is calm. Zen. Peace that stays.

Not searching any more
The most beautiful thing about this season? It’s all about walking in my purpose. Not searching any more. Not questioning. Just doing. Just being. Everything I discovered in Season 3 about who I was created to be, I now get to live. Every single day.
I want slow mornings. Deep breaths. Laughter that doesn’t cost me my sanity. I want to remain grounded in Christ: not performative, just real. I want to give more of myself, my time and my attention. I want to keep being intentional about everything: every thought, every dream, every yes and every no.
And I want to keep dreaming. Because 40 doesn’t mean I’m done. It means I’m just getting started. Just with better boundaries, a lot less noise, and a purpose I finally understand.
What I’m carrying into this season
I don’t have to keep surviving storms to prove I’m strong. Sometimes the bravest thing I can do is walk away from the chaos and choose peace.
My grandmother knew I’d be alright. Now I finally believe her. And now I finally know why I’m here.
Forty. Free. Full. Finally ready for calm. Finally walking in purpose.
If you’ve been on any part of this journey with me, whether we laughed, cried, fell out, made up or just shared a quiet moment of understanding: thank you. You’re part of my bestseller.
Now let’s go write Season 4. Slowly. Intentionally. Purposefully. And with a whole lot of zen.

Happy 40th birthday, Pat. Full heart and zero apologies.
