The Master Reset, Day 1: Irritated, but I Kept the Promise

The first day of a 30-day plant-based reset. Was I cheerful? Absolutely not. Did I keep my promise? Yes.

Mashed butternut with roasted carrots, mushrooms and broccoli

Well, well, well. Day 1 is done, and I survived it.

Was I happy and cheerful throughout the day? Absolutely not. I was irritated by everything and everyone. Even people who were minding their own business were getting on my nerves.

But here’s the thing. I made a commitment to myself, and today I chose to honour it. Not because it was easy, and not because I felt motivated every minute, but because I really want to see change.

What was on my plate

Dinner was mashed butternut and roasted vegetables. Nothing fancy, nothing expensive. Just a simple meal and a woman trying to keep a promise she made to herself.

Learning to show up for ourselves, even on the days we’re not in the mood.

And I think that’s what the Master Reset is really about: learning to show up for ourselves, even on the days we’re not particularly in the mood. We won’t get everything right every day, but we can keep trying.

Day 1 is in the bag. Tomorrow is another day, and another opportunity to choose myself.

One day at a time, ladies. We move.
